FANZI-
The first punk zines were released in Turkey in the early 1990s with the emergence of a broader fanzine culture. With very few exceptions, punk zines were published anonymously or under pseudonyms. Most of the documents presented here, some of them in the public eye for the first time, were produced during the 1990s and did not persist as regular periodicals or were released only as one-offs. Of these publications – which typically had an average circulation of 50-100 copies per issue – only few examples remain today, while the majority has been lost. Stemming from local communities connected and influenced by broader punk networks, these fanzines provide an important insight into the distinctive aspects of the local punk scene, its views and practices. In this list they are sorted alphabetically. In reference to each cover, information about the number of the fanzine, the city where it was published, the number of pages, format and year of publication, is also given.
